LIke a classic Gibson J-45 only better- Way Better! Collings builds the best acoustic guitars you can get!

WOW! Yep- This one is a keeper! For Sure! The Collings Jumbo, or "CJ", is based on the classic Gibson slope-shouldered dreadnought. While the CJ is similar in width and depth to the Gibson J-45, it has a distinctly different tone. Despite its large size this model works well with the optional shorter scale length, resulting in a somewhat percussive bottom end and is ideal for acoustic blues or other styles that benefit from a more controlled bass response. This is absolutely one of the best acoustic guitars I have in stock right now. It's a joy to play. Great tone, excellent playability. It's just so resonant. Loud, clear, crisp and punchy. Full sounding for sure, but not too boomy. It's a sweet and articulate guitar that is perfect for songwriting, strumming, accompaniment or just playing for fun.

First off, you’ll notice is has a very elegant look thanks to the chambered, hollow body construction with an F-hole. The body wood is Ash and the Aged Natural nitrocellulose lacquer finish accentuates the grain nicely. A Dark Rosewood fingerboard and Tortoise pickguard are also very complimentary to the look of this instrument. The neck profile is a great feeling, 60’s Oval C and the fingerboard has a compound radius (9.5”-12”) for excellent playability with low action. The exceptional tone is provided by a set of Hand Wound Master Design Bone Tone pickups. Overall this is an exceptionally lightweight, resonant and responsive guitar that feels fantastic. A Dark Rosewood fingerboard and Tortoise pickguard are also very complimentary to the look of this instrument. The neck profile is a great feeling, 60’s Oval C and the fingerboard has a compound radius (9.5”-12”) for excellent playability with low action.
